The second phase of new features and improvements is now live and includes;
10 Photos Up to 10 photos can now be uploaded per vehicle, and 9 exported to AutoTrader. It is important that users intending to upload more photos are aware that this will increase upload time. The specific time your photos will take to upload will depend on a combination of file size and connection speed. It is possible that an undesirable combination of these factors could result in uploads occasionally timing out. If you experience this problem or feel upload is slow, try optimising your camera to adequately compress your photos prior to upload. Alternatively, try splitting the images into 2 or 3 uploads or switch to using the TurboEdit upload method, which optimises image size automatically prior to upload. Improved system and showroom features Notable changes to the system include the ability to now flag special offers and define previous prices. In conjunction with improved page querying this provides the ability to construct special pages, highlighting special offers, reductions, etc, and in a different style if desired. Please contact the design department if assistant is required with page setup. Contract hire listings In addition to the recent inclusion of Trade priced showrooms, the system now adds further flexibility by supporting basic contract hire listings. AutoTrader and Ebay vehicle counters Subscribers to AutoTrader and Ebay will notice the appearance of counters within the Vehicle Management. The first digit displays the number of the vehicles specifically set to export. The second digit displays the number of undefined vehicles. These are still exported, but carry a lower priority*. An individual vehicles status can be controlled from within the Exports tab, and the icons in the right hand side stock list and counters to the left can be used to help manage the export of your vehicles. Please click link within the export options for more information regarding vehicle management. * Priority between On and Undefined vehicles cannot be guaranteed without a vehicle quota set our end. User Defined AutoTrader Quotas AutoTrader have recently changed the situation with regards to vehicle quotas. Vehicles are now capped their end with a 5% margin, and there is also now an open ending billing option. Before the change we typically held a vehicle quota provided by AutoTrader. This was used in conjunction with three states; On, Undefined, and Off. This has helped dealers as it allowed you to say I definitely want to send these vehicles, I definitely don’t want these send these vehicles, and the computer managed the undefined vehicles prioritised by price. This eliminated the necessity of the sometimes painstaking task of having to individually set each vehicle either on or off. The problem with removing the capping our end is that now, either every will need to be explicitly set on or off, or the control between which vehicles are sent will be lost. Rather than lose this management feature, we have opened up the quota system our end and this can now be user defined within the systems Vehicle Management. Some sensible options are: 1). If you subscribe to open ended billing with AutoTrader or have the same number of vehicles as with us, there is no issue. Remove the quota to ensure every vehicle gets displayed. 2). You wish to regulate your advertising with AutoTrader but wish to have some flexibility, i.e. some weeks advertise 20 cars, some weeks advertise 30 cars. Subscribe to open billing with AutoTrader, and maintain a user defined quota. 3). You require some control over which vehicles are sent, but don’t wish for the painstaking task of needing to define each vehicle individually. Set a user defined quota 5% above. Set the vehicles you specifically want to send on, the ones you don’t off, and leave the rest. 4). You wish to individually manage every vehicle. Clear the quota and set each vehicle either on or off. Ebay Note: Ebay bill for the first 100 vehicles, then in 50 vehicle increments. A quota can be requested by contacting the office if required. Real time finance Calculations Real time finance calculations provide unique quotations tailored to the customers preferred period, deposit and annual mileages. Upon until recently this technology has only been available on a bespoke basis and exclusively adopted by web based new car supermarkets. Repayments can be calculated based on a fixed APR or flat commission rate, which can be customised from vehicle to vehicle. The calculations can be linked to secure application forms, and finance can be approved against specific vehicles, with you, at competitive rates, before the customer hits your pitch. We believe this product is set to readdress the balance of trends, which in recent years has seen revenue being increasingly lost to privately arranged finance.
